Horsham Sports Club's display is Saturday 24 October 2026, gates 5pm, fireworks 7.30pm. Early bird tickets are £8 and Cricketfield Road closes at 4.30pm.

Horsham’s big display is Saturday 24 October 2026 at Horsham Sports Club on Cricketfield Road, and it is nearly a fortnight before bonfire night itself, which falls on Thursday 5 November this year.

Early bird tickets went on sale online at 4pm on Friday 4 September, at £8 for everyone aged five and over. That is £3 less than the advance price the club charges once the early bird tier closes (Horsham Sports Club, Horsham Fireworks Night 2026).

The club puts the display time at 7.30pm with an asterisk: “the launch time is approximate and will be dictated by the professional display team”. Alongside the fireworks there are fairground rides, food stalls and a licensed bar carrying Firebird Brewing Co craft beer.

The fireworks themselves are not fired from the cricket ground. They go up from land on Denne Hill, which the club says the Blewitt family has owned for more than 50 years and lets it use for the night. This year’s sponsor is the Les Searle Group, an earthmoving contractor based in West Sussex.

Check the date on the club’s own page carefully

The club’s 2026 event page carries a paragraph that still reads “This year’s event takes place on Saturday 25th October 2025”. That is last year’s line, left in the body text of this year’s page.

Everything else on that page, and the club’s Eventbrite listing, gives 24 October 2026. The date checks out: 24 October 2026 is a Saturday, and 25 October 2026 is a Sunday, so the stale sentence cannot be right.

Buying tickets

There are two routes and they open a week apart.

  • Online. Early bird sales opened at 4pm on Friday 4 September through Eventbrite. The club has not published a closing date for the early bird tier, so the £8 price is not guaranteed to last.
  • In person. Printed tickets go on sale direct from Horsham Sports Club from Friday 11 September, during office hours of Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Tickets are non-refundable and non-returnable unless the club cancels, in which case it refunds the full ticket price. If you cannot go, the club says you may pass your ticket to someone else. On the gate you can show either a printed ticket or the barcode on your phone, and under fives need their free ticket shown too.

Parking: there is none, and the road shuts at 4.30pm

This is the part people get wrong every year. The club is blunt about it: there is no parking at Horsham Sports Club or anywhere in Cricketfield Road for the duration of the event. A limited number of blue badge spaces exist on site and once they are full, the club says it has to turn people away.

Cricketfield Road closes completely, in both directions, from 4.30pm, with exceptions only for residents’ access and emergency vehicles. If you drive in expecting to park near the gate, you will be turned around half an hour before the gates even open.

The realistic plan is a town centre car park and a walk. Denne Road (RH12 1JH) is the closest council car park, roughly half a kilometre away, but it is short stay with a three hour maximum, and gates at 5pm plus a 7.30pm display does not fit inside three hours. Swan Walk and Piries Place are both open 24 hours and both run a £2.80 overnight tariff from 8pm, which is when the event ends. If you are driving through town that evening rather than to the display, check the Horsham roadworks and travel page as well, because the Cricketfield Road closure is an event closure and sits outside the county’s roadworks register.

What you cannot bring

The club’s list is longer than most and it enforces it on the gate: no fireworks, no sparklers, no alcohol, no food, no sharp objects and no glass. Anything on that list is confiscated or you are refused entry. There is no re-admittance once you are inside.

Under 16s must be with a responsible adult. The club recommends over-ear defenders for young children and anyone with sensory sensitivities. Dogs are not allowed unless they are assistance dogs.

Two practical notes from the club’s own FAQs. Not every fairground ride and food stall takes cards, so bring some cash. And the main part of the event is on the cricket ground, which the club warns “can get very muddy very quickly”, with no covered areas anywhere on site. The event goes ahead in any weather unless the display company advises otherwise, which usually means very high winds or flooding.

Access is possible but not easy. There is a disabled lift on the outside of the clubhouse, and the club is honest that the event gets extremely busy and getting around may prove difficult.

Is anything else on in the district?

As of 4 September 2026, no other fireworks display in Horsham district has published a 2026 date.

That is worth stating plainly, because the listings say otherwise. Visit Horsham’s fireworks round-up currently names six displays: Horsham Sports Club, Horsham Rugby Club, The Coot, The Shelley Arms, Leonardslee Wine Estate at Mannings Heath and The Holbrook Club. Every date on it is a 2025 date. It lists “Saturday 25th October” and “Saturday 1st November”. Both of those were Saturdays in 2025. In 2026 they are Sundays.

The same trap sits on Visit Horsham’s individual event pages for Horsham Rugby Club, which still carry 1 November 2025 and 2 November 2024 respectively.

Southwater Sports Club’s display is sold through the Sussex Event Tickets box office on Ticket Tailor. That box office currently lists no events at all, and its Southwater Fireworks page is still selling Friday 7 November 2025.

We will update this page as each of those organisers announces. On last year’s pattern the district’s other displays cluster on the weekend of 31 October and 1 November and on Friday 6 November, but none of that is confirmed for 2026 and none of it should be planned around yet.
