The timing is the change. The fair has always been a daytime event. Horsham District Council says it moved to a weekday evening for 2026 on the back of the surveys it ran after last year’s fair, to give people in work a realistic chance of getting there. (Horsham District Council, 28 August 2026)

Who has been named so far

The council has named eight of this year’s exhibitors:

  • Benchmark Capital
  • the Royal Air Force
  • Mountjoy
  • Assurity Consulting
  • Fowler Swimming Pools
  • Places Leisure
  • SGN Horsham
  • Tesla Engineering

That is not the full line-up. The council’s event page says the exhibitor list is still being filled in and asks people to check back for it.

Be careful with the long list of employers further down that page. It is headed “Job Opportunities” and collects links to local employers’ own careers pages, and the council states plainly that many of them “have attended the Jobs Fair in previous years”. It is a useful directory of who recruits in the district. It is not a list of who will be in the room on 30 September.

What is actually on offer

The fair is not only for people looking for a salaried job. The council says exhibitors will be showing paid work, voluntary work, apprenticeships and training opportunities, across a spread of industries.

Alongside the stands there are free employability support workshops running through the event. There is no need to book for those. You drop in on the day. The council has not yet published which workshops it is running, only that the details are coming.

Cllr Jonathan Taylor, the council’s Cabinet Member for Enterprise and Property, said the fair “has an excellent track record of matching local job seekers with businesses looking to recruit staff and provide training opportunities”, and encouraged people to come and use the employment support on offer as well as the stands.

What it means for you

If you work standard hours, this is the first year the fair has been reachable after your shift. The 7.30pm finish means you can arrive at five and still have more than two hours.

Two practical points before you go:

  • Nothing needs booking. Both the fair and the workshops are drop-in.
  • Check the event page again in the week before, because the exhibitor list and the workshop programme are both still being added to.
