72 new companies at Horsham district addresses in September, from a meat retailer on Bishopric to a pub firm at Rusper's Plough. Six went into liquidation.
A meat retailer on Bishopric, a pub company at The Plough in Rusper and a padel firm are among 72 companies registered at Horsham district addresses in September. That is our count from the Companies House register, for incorporations from 1 to 30 September 2026 (Companies House advanced search).
We searched the register by town name and by every district postcode area, then checked each postcode against its local authority. Seven companies with a Billingshurst, Henfield or Horsham postal address turned out to sit in Chichester, Mid Sussex or Waverley districts, so they are not counted here.
A registration is a statement of intent. It does not prove a business is trading, and several of the companies below use an accountant’s office as their registered address. We list company names, dates and the nature of business each declared, and nothing about the people behind them.
The ones with a shopfront or a venue in mind
- Horsham Food Centre Ltd (30 September), 50a Bishopric, Horsham: retail sale of meat and meat products in specialised stores (Companies House, 17491842).
- Rusper Spice Ltd (5 September), registered at The Plough & Attic Rooms, High Street, Rusper: public houses and bars (17440417).
- Mintmill Ashington Ltd (8 September), Curry Lounge, London Road, Ashington: licensed restaurants (17448039).
- Between Villages Ltd (5 September), Amberley Road, Storrington: cafes, takeaway food and event catering (17441294).
- Electricmix LT Ltd (9 September), Spencers Road, Horsham: takeaway food (17449065).
- Padel 72 Ltd (16 September), Solo House, London Road, Horsham: operation of sports facilities. Solo House is the registered office of several other companies, so it tells us nothing about where any courts would be (17463324).
- Henfield Pottery Limited (17 September), Unit 4a, Vinalls Business Centre, Henfield: cultural education (17465807).
- Matthew Merritt Motors Limited (10 September), Unit 14, Huffwood Trading Estate, Billingshurst: vehicle maintenance and repair (17451662).
- NHI MT Nails Ltd (4 September), Jengers Mead, Billingshurst: hairdressing and beauty (17437892).
- The Atelier Beauty Collective Ltd (14 September), Buchan Court, Brighton Road, Horsham: beauty and other health services (17457613).
Three that stand out on the register
- N66DR Limited (3 September), Uppark Gardens, Horsham, declared non-scheduled passenger air transport. That is the code for charter flights, not airline timetables (17435587).
- Omian Ltd (3 September), West Grinstead parish, declared the raising of horses (17436431).
- Castelmer Farm Apartments Limited and Castelmer Farm Management Company Limited (both 30 September) are registered on Queen Street, Horsham, as residents’ companies (17491471, 17491392). The homes they are named after are not in the district. Castelmer Farm is a development of four apartments and six houses at Kingston, near Lewes, about 20 miles south-east.
The rest, by trade
We grouped each company by the first standard industrial classification it declared:
- Business services and consultancy (19): mostly management consultancies, plus an accountant (Hourigan Accounting, Cowfold Road), a town planning consultancy (Lloyd Davies Planning), technical testing (Apollo Equipment Services, Southwater), design (Prism Inclusive Design), advertising (J&S Unfiltered, Searle Consulting) and an employment agency (Homestay Carers, West Chiltington).
- Software, data and media (12): firms including Grand Cru Data, NFG Software Solutions, Resolut Software, Buildsign (Steyning), Genzia and Incisive Question (both Henfield), and a film production company in Warnham.
- Retail, wholesale and motor (8): Horsham Food Centre and Matthew Merritt Motors, above, plus four online or specialist retailers (among them A Dog Called Tom, Pulborough, and Maple and Vine, Thakeham) and two wholesalers.
- Holding and investment companies (7): four of them registered at two Horsham town centre addresses.
- Property and residents’ companies (6): the two Castelmer Farm companies, a right to manage company for Westminster House, Pulborough, and three property firms.
- Construction and trades (6): Carter Cook Construction (Broadbridge Heath), BVMH Surfacing (Shipley), Guildfordroofing (Billingshurst, despite the name), Blueleaf Climate (heating and plumbing), Ritual Construction (Steyning) and Ravenscroft Design (Rusper).
- Health, education and sport (5): Henfield Pottery, Padel 72, The Atelier Beauty Collective, a specialist medical practice and a dental practice company.
- Food and drink (4): Rusper Spice, Mintmill Ashington, Between Villages and Electricmix LT.
- Other (3): N66DR, Omian and BF Land Management (Upper Beeding, farming, forestry and landscaping).

Going the other way
September’s Gazette also carried insolvency notices for six companies with district addresses. One of them is not a failure:
- Smartwood Flooring Limited, 13 Market Square, Horsham, nature of business floor and wall coverings. Liquidators were appointed on 7 September in a creditors’ voluntary liquidation (Gazette notice 5209809).
- Coche Conexion Ltd, The Byre, Court Farm, Coneyhurst. The Business and Property Courts in Manchester made a winding-up order on 15 September, on a petition filed on 31 July, and the Official Receiver is liquidator (Gazette notice 5213788).
- Marvelous Cars Ltd, Sullington Lane, near Storrington, vehicle maintenance and repair. Members resolved on 22 May to wind it up; the notice appeared on 7 September (Gazette notice 5206233).
- Non Intrusive Detection Systems Ltd, trading as NID Limited, with its trading address in Park Lane, Maplehurst. Its joint liquidator has called a creditors’ meeting (Gazette notice 5219510).
- Kirk Building and Carpentry Ltd, registered at Billingshurst Road, Ashington, but trading from Burgess Hill. Its creditors’ meeting was on 29 September (Gazette notice 5216925).
- Chesswall Limited, Solo House, London Road, Horsham, a building development company, is in a members’ voluntary liquidation from 1 September. That is the route for a solvent company whose owners are closing it, not an insolvency (Gazette notice 5203073).
We reported Joanna’s Boutique Tearoom (Chichester) separately: its Storrington tearoom was still trading when we reported on 29 September (our report). Any company named here, or its liquidator, can contact us to add a response.
What it means for you
- Spotted a new name above a shop? Check it on the Companies House register before you pay a deposit. The register shows when a company was formed and whether its accounts are filed.
- Owed money by a company in liquidation? The Gazette notice names the liquidator. Send them your claim, with proof of the debt, as the notice sets out.
- Opening something yourself? A business that serves food needs to register with Horsham District Council at least 28 days before it opens. The council’s food safety team then inspects it, and every rating is public. Our latest Horsham food hygiene ratings round-up shows how that turns out.
How we counted: Companies House advanced search for incorporations dated 1 to 30 September 2026, searched by Horsham, Billingshurst, Pulborough, Storrington, Steyning, Henfield and Southwater, and by the RH12, RH13, RH14, RH20, BN44 and BN5 postcode areas. Each registered office postcode was then checked against its local authority with postcodes.io, and only Horsham district addresses were kept. Sectors use the first SIC code each company declared.
