Dick Whittington runs at the Capitol from 29 November 2026 to 3 January, Louie Spence as the cat, and opening night is £26 a seat against £35 after. Every date.

Horsham’s pantomime is Dick Whittington at the Capitol, running from Sunday 29 November 2026 to Sunday 3 January 2027, with Louie Spence as Peppé Puss the cat. It is also the first show in the refurbished auditorium: the theatre has been closed since 4 January and the panto reopens it.

Two things are worth knowing before you book. Opening night is the cheap night, with every seat at £26 on Sunday 29 November. And the adults-only version has almost sold out already, three months out.

Louie Spence is joined by Will Jennings, Emma Lindars and James Camp, all returning from last year’s Robin Hood, plus Issac Elder, Lotti Brogan and Sam Amestoy (The Capitol, Dick Whittington).

The £35 and £30 standard prices are what the box office system shows for a Saturday evening performance. The venue advertises the show “from £26.00”, so cheaper seats exist on some dates.

There is no performance on Christmas Day, and none on 1 January. The other gaps in December are not days off: the theatre has other shows in them.

The gaps are the adults-only panto

Dick Whittington: 16+ runs on Wednesday 9, Thursday 10 and Friday 11 December at 8pm, with Louie Spence again as the cat. Prices start at £30. It follows a 2025 sell-out, and it is going the same way: as of 4 September the venue shows “Last Few Tickets” on the Wednesday and Thursday, and Friday 11 December is already sold out.

The venue’s own warning is worth repeating. This performance “is likely to feature strong language and adult humour” and carries an age 16+ policy. It is the same story as the family panto, played for a different room.

The other Christmas show

‘Twas The Night Before Christmas runs in the Capitol Studio from Tuesday 1 December to Thursday 31 December, from £17. It is a 45 minute show for ages 2 and up, from Half Cut Theatre, inspired by A Visit From St Nicholas, and every child gets a free gift from Santa. Most days have a 10.30am show and a 1.30pm show, and Christmas Eve has four: 10am, 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm. There is a relaxed performance on Saturday 19 December at 1.30pm.

This is the one to book if the main panto is too long or too loud for a small child.

Discounts and access

  • All seats £26 on Sunday 29 November, the opening performance.
  • Group discounts for parties of 10 or more, on performances between 2 and 17 December.
  • Family of four discounts, maximum two adults, from 2 December onwards.

  • Relaxed performance with a BSL interpreter, Wednesday 16 December at 6pm, with a tactile tour at 5.30pm. The venue describes it as designed for audiences who prefer a gentler theatre experience, including neurodiverse customers and those with sensory sensitivities.

The box office has moved

The Capitol’s box office is not at the theatre. While the building work finishes it is at Unit 43, Swan Walk Shopping Centre, RH12 1HQ, open Tuesday to Friday 9.30am to 4.30pm and closed Saturday to Monday. The phone lines run 10am to 3pm, Tuesday to Friday, on 01403 750220.

Swan Walk itself has been reopening in phases since a glazing fault closed it on 13 July. The Carfax Mall is now open from the Carfax entrance down to the Next and T.G. Jones area, so the box office unit is reachable, but check the centre’s own update before making a special trip.

Parking and getting there

The Capitol is on North Street, RH12 1RG. The nearest council car parks are North Street (RH12 9SX) and Piries Place, and evening performances finishing at 7pm or later will run into the 8pm changeover when Swan Walk and Piries Place switch to their £2.80 overnight tariff. Horsham station is at the far end of North Street, five to ten minutes’ walk from the Carfax, so for an evening performance the train is often easier than finding a space (Horsham train times).

What is not confirmed yet

The venue has not published a running time for Dick Whittington, and the building work itself is only due to finish in early November, three weeks before opening night. The council said in August that the work was on schedule. If that slips, the panto is the first thing in the diary that would be affected. We will update this page if anything changes.
