Horsham's Halloween Friday Late is in the Carfax on 30 October, 6pm to 8pm. Plus Amberley's ghost train, Leonardslee's trail, Tulleys pumpkins, Freaky Fishers.
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, at the end of half term, and Horsham gets two evenings of it. On Friday 30 October the council’s Friday Lates come back to the Carfax Bandstand from 6pm to 8pm for a Halloween special, and on Saturday 31 October Amberley Museum runs its ghost train after dark. Around those sit a fortnight-long trail at Leonardslee, a week of Freaky Fishers at Fishers Farm Park and the pumpkin fields at Tulleys.
Everything below was checked on 3 October 2026 against the organisers’ own pages. Two of the town’s usual half-term venues are shut this year: Horsham Museum is closed for roof repairs until 5 January and The Capitol reopens with the pantomime on 29 November.

In Horsham town
Halloween Friday Late, Friday 30 October, 6pm to 8pm. The summer Friday Lates return for one night as A Million Dreams to a Million Screams: a tribute act to The Greatest Showman, followed by what the council calls “a specialised spooky, high-energy Halloween production”. It is at the Carfax Bandstand and is run by Horsham District Council with Food Rocks Markets. The council asks people not to bring a chair unless they have access needs, to keep the size of the crowd manageable in the Carfax (Horsham District Council, Friday Lates). The council’s page does not mention tickets or a charge. The next one after this is the Christmas special on Friday 18 December.
Halloween family discos at The Holbrook Club, Friday 30 October. Doors open at 5.30pm, with dancing and entertainment until 9pm, the bar open until 10pm and the cafe serving from 5.30pm to 8pm. Fancy dress is expected. The club lists adults aged 10 and over at £4.50 and children aged 10 and under at £7. Tickets are non-refundable, and are sold online or in person and on 01403 751150; the club says they sell fast (The Holbrook Club). The club is on North Heath Lane, RH12 5PJ.
Free Halloween Family Quiz, Pulborough, Friday 30 October, 6pm to 8pm. Run by the district’s Neighbourhood Wardens at the Pulborough Parish Council offices, RH20 2BF (Horsham District Council, wardens’ events). Questions go to wardens@horsham.gov.uk.
Fireworks on Halloween night. The Shelley Arms at Broadbridge Heath has listed a free fireworks display for Saturday 31 October, with food from 5pm. That and the town’s other six displays are on our Horsham fireworks page.
Pumpkin picking
Tulleys Pumpkin Festival, Turners Hill. The big pumpkin patch nearest to Horsham, on the far side of Crawley, runs from 19 September to 31 October 2026, 9.30am to 5.30pm, with some late-season days closing at 5pm. Tulleys says it has more than 1.5 million pumpkins and gourds across more than 100 acres, and this year adds a new area, the Pumpkin Valley. Day tickets start at £8.95, booked through PumpkinFarm.co.uk. Pumpkin Nights, with pumpkin picking after dark, illuminated trails and live music, run on selected evenings until 31 October, 5.30pm to 10pm, from £11.95 through PumpkinNights.co.uk. Tulleys says peak weekends and school holiday dates sell out every year, and dogs are welcome on all days (Tulleys Farm, Pumpkin Festival 2026; Pumpkin Farm). The festival’s postcode is RH10 4PE, though its own site gives RH10 4PD as the closest one for a sat nav.
Closer to town. Family days-out sites list a pick-your-own pumpkin field at the Camelia Botnar garden centre on Littleworth Lane, near Cowfold, but the Camelia Botnar Foundation has published nothing about pumpkins for 2026 on its own website, so we cannot confirm it is running this year. Check with the garden centre before you set off.
Trails and family days
The Potion Master’s Quest, Leonardslee, 17 October to 1 November. A self-led trail through the gardens for children aged 2 to 11, daily from 10am to 3pm. Children collect an activity book, solve riddles, find hidden letters, tackle an obstacle course and claim a prize at the end. Trail tickets are £3 per child, or £2.50 for members’ children, and pre-booking is essential: Leonardslee cannot promise tickets at reception on the day. Non-members also need garden entry. Costumes are encouraged, and free Halloween crafts run alongside (Leonardslee, Potion Master’s Quest). From Monday 26 October the gardens move to winter hours, 9am to 4pm with last entry at 3.30pm (Leonardslee).
Family Spooky Silent Disco, Leonardslee, Thursday 29 October. Doors from 4.15pm, last entry 8.30pm, in two timeslots; the earlier one is aimed at younger children. Three music channels, headphones handed out at The Courtyard, fancy dress encouraged. The early bird tickets have sold out, leaving adults at £17.50, children aged 2 to 16 at £12.50 and families at £50 (Leonardslee, Family Spooky Silent Disco).
Freaky Fishers, Fishers Farm Park, 24 October to 1 November. Children pick up a stamp card for the Creepy Quest and hunt for five spooky stamp stations around the park, with a candy-box surprise at the end. There is also the Little Boo Barn, with a choice of “scary or sweet”, and the Door of Doom. Bookings are open on the park’s site, which has not set out the event’s prices or times on the event page, so check when you book. The park is on Newpound Lane, Wisborough Green, RH14 0EG, and its four indoor play barns make it a fallback if the weather turns (Fishers Farm Park, Freaky Fishers).
For older children and adults
Halloween Evening and ghost train, Amberley Museum, Saturday 31 October. The museum opens from 6pm to 9pm, with ghost trains every 15 minutes from 6.30pm, alternating between Amberley and Cragside stations. It is not suitable for under 12s, tickets are £17 each for members and non-members, and dogs cannot come (Amberley Museum, Halloween Evening). The museum is at New Barn Road, Amberley, BN18 9LT, next to Amberley station.
Halloween Adult Silent Disco, Leonardslee, Saturday 31 October. Doors at 6.30pm and last entry at 10.30pm, with food from The Clocktower Kitchen and a bar; guests can stay until midnight whichever session they book. Tickets from £22.50 plus a booking fee (Leonardslee, Adult Halloween Silent Disco).
Shocktober Fest, Tulleys Farm. Tulleys’ scream park returns in October 2026 for its 30th year (Shocktober Fest). Check its site for this year’s nights and age rules before booking.
What will not happen this year
- Horsham Museum closed on 7 September for roof repairs and reopens on Tuesday 5 January 2027, so last year’s half-term trail and crafts there will not run (our report).
- The Capitol is closed for refurbishment until the pantomime opens on Sunday 29 November (our report).
Still to be announced
Horsham District Council publishes its own half-term programme about two weeks before the holiday; last year’s went out on 10 October 2025. In 2025 it included a trail at Southwater Country Park, den building at Leechpool Woods and a Halloween trail at Warnham (Horsham District Council, 10 October 2025). The council’s Half Term in Horsham page now carries a “Halloween events in Horsham Town Centre” heading but still lists the May programme beneath it. This page will be updated when the October programme appears. The rest of half term week, including the nature reserve and the INSET days that start some schools’ break on Friday 23 October, is on our October half term page and our term dates page.
Getting there
The Friday Late is in the middle of the Carfax, so the town centre car parks are the nearest. Swan Walk and Piries Place are both open 24 hours, and both switch to a £2.80 overnight tariff from 8pm on weekdays. Our Horsham parking page has every car park’s evening rates. On Sunday 25 October there are no trains between Three Bridges and Horsham because of engineering work, with buses instead; check our Horsham roadworks and travel page before you travel that weekend.
